Covering an area of 70,532 square meters, this
was the best hotel in Lhasa when it opened in 1985 (?) and remained so for
many years. It was first managed by Holiday Inn for several years but
Holiday Inn bowed out when its contract expired, as a result of pressures
from outside China. Norbulingka, the Dalai Lama's Summer Palace, is just
down the road and the Potala Palace is 10 minutes away by car.
All of the 455 guest rooms and suites are
equipped with private bath and shower, satellite TV and direct dial
telephone system. Oxygen is supplied if needed.
Lhasa Hotel has a variety of restaurants offering
Sichuan, Western, Indian and Tibetan cuisine. Other facilities include a
business center, a beauty salon and a medical clinic.
