short walk to the Confucius Temple and the Kong Mansions - former
residence of Confucius' descendents.
In September 2003, the hotel
completed its latest round of major renovations having cost its new owners
- the hotel used to be state-owned but now in the hands of private
investors - over 50 million Yuan ($6 million US). The new owners also
spend heavily on staff re-training in hope of obtaining 4-star
classification in the near future.
